Scholar on the Road
The Scholar-on-the-road program was established in 2004 by the Faculty of the Theological College as a means by which Faculty members could be available to the wider church to resource their learning.
It began with a system whereby one Faculty member would be available for up to a full semester to travel the length and breadth of the Synod, and, on invitation, provide input to various learning programs run by Presbyteries.
Over a period of time, the program has been modified in such a way that now, each Faculty member makes themselves available to participate in a selected number of events each year, across the Synod.
The program continues to be popular; it is valuable both for the church members who get a chance to keep u-to-date with current scholarship, and also for the Faculty members who get a first-hand experience of what is happening in the wider church.
The program is managed by Sharon Hollis (sharon [dot] hollis [at] ctm [dot] uca [dot] edu [dot] au) who is Coordinator of continuing education at the Center for Theology and Ministry.
Topics available stretch across all the disciplines of Christian learning and Christian life.
