Scholarships

The CTM and the synod have oversight of some financial sources and scholarships available for those participating in study – for both lay and ordained individuals.

What are they?

Lay Ministry Intensives are introductory theological studies aimed specifically at lay people involved in various forms of lay ministry. Four units of study are offered on a two year rotating program, and each unit also includes a focus on the practical skills needed for Preaching and leading Worship. Completing the four units meets the study requirements for Lay Preacher candidates. 

For studies in the theological disciplines or recognised courses related to ministry. Open to graduates of the Uniting Church Theological College in Melbourne.

The Visiting Scholars Program at UCTC aims to develop and enhance research, publication, and scholarly conversation, in the theological disciplines, or in a related and innovative cross-disciplinary area by supporting scholars in short visits (normally 3 to 4 weeks) to the UCA Centre for Theology and Ministry.

Are available to assist lay people in the Synod to undertake approved courses of education for ministry.

To enable research that will contribute a theological dimension to the church’s thinking about matters of public importance, usually undertaken as a partnership between

2010 Funded Projects announced:The 2010 funding round has been determined and three projects were successful this year.  The Easter Arts festival, The New Road and Sustainable Shoes Project all receive support.

For postgraduate studies in theology at a university overseas. Open to graduates of the Uniting Church Theological College in Melbourne. Applications close: 31 August.
